Allah’s Divine Authority

Allah! There is no god worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He fully knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills to reveal. His Seat1 encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest. 2 Bottom of Form

Who is addressee of Quran?

The Quran addresses multiple audiences, and its guidance is intended for all of humanity. Here are the primary addressees of the Quran:

1. All of Humanity

The Quran is a universal message, meant to guide all people regardless of race, ethnicity, or nationality:

This is an insight to humanity—a guide and a lesson to the God-fearing. (Quran 3:138)

2. Believers (Muslims)

The Quran frequently addresses Muslims (referred to as “those who believe” or Al-Mu’minun) and gives them guidance on faith, worship, and morality:

O believers! Be mindful of Allah and be with the truthful. (Quran 9:119)

3. People of the Book (Jews and Christians)

The Quran often addresses Ahl al-Kitab (People of the Book), primarily Jews and Christians, acknowledging their scriptures but also calling them to recognize the message of the Quran:

Say, ˹O Prophet, ˺ “O People of the Book! Let us come to common terms: that we will worship none but Allah, associate none with Him, nor take one another as lords instead of Allah.” But if they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we have submitted ˹to Allah alone˺.” (Quran 3:64)

4. Disbelievers (Non-Believers or Rejectors of Faith)

The Quran also addresses those who deny or reject its message, warning them of the consequences of disbelief:

˹O Prophet! ˺ Tell the disbelievers, “Soon you will be overpowered and driven to Hell—what an evil place to rest!”‘” (Quran 3:12)

5. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Many verses are directly addressed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), giving him guidance, comfort, or commands related to his mission:

O Prophet! We have sent you as a witness, and a deliverer of good news, and a warner, (Quran 33:45)

6. All Creation (Including Jinn and Mankind)

The Quran acknowledges the existence of both jinn and mankind, addressing both as part of Allah’s creation:

I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.

These diverse addressees reflect the Quran’s comprehensive scope, offering guidance, wisdom, and warnings to various groups within humanity and creation at large. (Quran 51:56)

What is Quran?

Facts about Quran

  • The Quran is a book that leads humanity to the straight path of life.
  • This is the Book! There is no doubt about it—a guide for those mindful of Allah. (Al-Quran:Sura Al- Baqarah, Ayat #2)
  • Allah (SWA) says in Quran, ”O People of the Book! Now Our Messenger has come to you, revealing much of what you have hidden of the Scriptures and disregarding much. There certainly has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book. (Al-Quran:Sura AlMaidah, Ayat #15-16)
  • The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad from Allah (SWA) over the period of 23 years, beginning in the year 609 CE or AD.
  • The Quran is considered the original and unaltered word of Allah (God) since its revelation to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) over 1,400 years ago. Divine Protection of the Quran i.e. The Quran itself affirms its protection from alteration, “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” (Quran, Surah Al-Hijr 15:9). This verse mean that Allah has taken responsibility for safeguarding the Quran from corruption or alteration over time.

Sura AL-Baqra Ayat .185

What is righteousness?

Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, ˹needy˺ travellers, beggars, and for freeing captives; who establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and keep the pledges they make; and who are patient in times of suffering, adversity, and in ˹the heat of˺ battle. It is they who are true ˹in faith˺, and it is they who are mindful ˹of Allah˺.

Al Quran: Sura: Al Baqarah Ayat:177

Why Allah (SWA) created human beings?

He (Allah/God) is the One˺ Who created death and life in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Almighty, All-Forgiving.

Quran : Sura Al-Mulk , Ayat #2

Allah (SWA) responds to human beings who call him.

When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way.
